I’m Vanessa Dickerson, a Computer Science Junior at Texas A&M with an emphasis area in Statistics, but most importantly I’m a problem solver. I’ve been invested in Computer Science ever since I was a kid, because I was lucky enough to get to see how, with the requisite knowledge, a developer could turn nothing into something.
Solving problems with software has been an interest of mine ever since I understood that software could be built. In high school, I developed applications to solve problems that I or my school faced, like a COVID-19 Dashboard to track case outbreaks by class.
Nowadays, I similarly work on projects that I think have the ability to make changes in the way that others interface with the world. My most recent project is a web app designed to both educate the user on neural networks through competing with one that I trained, as well as to help them spot and identify phishing attempts.
